Vista Print and Maxim Magazine

I will NEVER order from Vista Print ever again unless they change their business practices. This has me so steamed that I needed to share....

We were at a wonderful family reunion and one of the college students there was looking at Maxim magazine. Being a youth leader and seeing that this dude was wearing a WWJD bracelet, my husband and I just had to say SOMETHING about the irony of the moment.
Maxim markets itself as a magazine about "Hot Girls and Sex"

To make a long story short we came home from vacation to find a Maxim magazine sitting on our kitchen table that was lovingly sent for FREE from Vista Print. A subscription (that I think is free but now I want to check my credit card statement). We were so embarrassed that it came to our home when our 17 year old dog sitter was there getting our mail for us. Wow look what her youth leaders read in their spare time.

Then I walked to church and shared this story with our secretary. Guess what she pulls out from the recycling bin ? A Maxim sent to our church office because our preschool ordered off of Vista Print too. Apparently I am not the only one this has happened to. I found similar cases on other blogs too while googling Vista Print scams.

I do not want a Maxim magazine subscription delivered to my home.
It is not a porn magazine, but close to one! A guys version of Cosmopolitan (which I throw away if I ever find a youth group teen reading one)
As a youth leader it is really awkward to be away on vacation and
have our teen dog sitter bring in our mail only to find Maxim in there!

Of course Vista Print says it's my fault...I must have accidentally clicked to accept the free offer.
I did NOT CLICK and ACCEPT the offer for this!
Vista web programmers and sales scam-ers need to re-configure their website so
that "accidents" like this don't happen.

and if you are going to trick us into getting a magazine, why choose one that is so trashy and offensive?

I am done with Vista Print. They have poor business practices. If you call their customer service you get help from people in some other country answering the phone who can't help much with anything. If you get a Vista Print magazine by accident you can email them at

  1. Oh, wow! This is terrible- it would be like me getting this delivered to my mailbox where I teach- a Catholic school!

I would be totally steamed also!!

Thanks for the heads-up; I will definitely avoid this company.

Thank you for your blog. I just received a magazine (I was more fortunate than you, I got "In Style" but nevertheless not interested and moreover concerned about a bill I am not aware of. Thanks to your blog I bet you it's from Vista Print also because after going through the run around with the Very annoying voice mail and no one answering the phone no matter who you call, I go t online and red your blog. Well guess what I just did business with Vista Print!...

    Thanks again

  5. Yes, I too fell for that scam and ended up with Maxim. I had to work pretty hard to get Maxim to stop sending the magazine to our home. I told them I didn't want that kind of filth in my home and had been shredding the copies so far. I just discovered today that it came through Vistaprint like yours did. The worst part is that they have now charged my credit card $29.00 for a subscription to Maxim for a year. I am having to contest the charges on my credit card bill. Let me know if anyone else has had similar problems. PS I sent a copy of my emails to the consumer affairs department of my state for them to see what is going on with Vistaprint.

I am sooo thankful to have stumbled on to your blog. I have also had a magazine shoved down my throat and this is the second time that have had to deal with such a thing, although the first was not connected with Vista Print..With the first, I kept mailing the magazine people refusing the mags. Finally I started getting calls from a collection agency and had to agree to a "settlement" that cost me over $100. I will keep reading your blog and hope you and the other writers will help me get out of this. Meanwhile I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH VISTA PRINT AGAIN. bk

  7. IF THIS HAS HAPPENED TO YOU, SEND AN EMAIL TO vistaprint@m2mags.com AND REQUEST THAT YOUR SUBSCRIPTION BE CANCELED. I RECENTLY DEALT WITH THIS VERY SITUATION, AND AFTER 20 MINUTES ON THE PHONE WITH VISTAPRINT, THE WOMAN FINALLY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS THE FASTEST WAY TO STOP A "COMPLIMENTARY" SUBSCRIPTION.

  8. I am currently trying to request a refund after a terrible experience with this. I just wrote about the beginning of my experience today on reddit.com:
