Menu Plan Monday

My Menu for this week:

For me...the easiest and (FREE!) way to make menus and get FREE recipes and FREE shopping lists that you can customize can be found HERE  from Homemade Gourmet.

In my quest to eat less processed food and prepared mixes...I did try using the Menu Mailer from Saving Dinner once again, but I was always too overwhelmed by the number of ingredients I had to purchase and the amount of time to prepare the meals. That attempt resulted in 8 straight days of eating out. Ha! So, yes Saving Dinner is great if you want to cook from scratch more often and want to pay $$ for a pre-planned menu and grocery list. As a pregnant, tired, and busy working mom...it didn't work at all for me.

Homemade Gourmet is much more time-efficient and cost effective for me (less ingredients to buy at the grocery store!). It's cheaper and healthier than eating out. Admittedly, herein lie some preservatives and artificial ingredients lurking around. But not too much, and not worse than hitting the drive through too often.

Here is how you do it:
1) Make a Menu with Homemade Gourmet's Key to the Kitchen
2) Order the mixes from Homemade Gourmet (or use what you have...I have a well stocked Homemade Gourmet Pantry)
3) Grocery shop...a short and sweet list!
4) Come home and "prep" your meals into freezer kits that take only a moment to toss in the slow cooker, bake in the oven or prepare in less than 30 minutes.
